Description

Creative’s new T60 desktop speakers are among the cheapest PC speakers you can buy that offer truly decent sound quality, instead of producing a noise that’s barely better than your laptop speakers. Some brands are better known for delivering great quality, and as you’re on our Creative MF0480 2.1 PC Speaker Set review you’re probably already well aware of how good quality Creative Laptop and PC speakers are. A combination of minimalism and performance, the simple yet definitively designed Creative Pebble Plus blends nicely into your desktop environment. Speakers with Bluetooth aptX technology avoid most of the sound-quality compromises that can mar the audio quality of lesser Bluetooth speakers. However, some high-end speakers also offer Wi-Fi connectivity, which uses your Wi-Fi network to deliver improved wireless sound quality. This often goes hand in hand with the option of linking multiple speakers together as part of a multiroom speaker system. The price of a product is another really good indicator of the quality because, as you’ll already know, you often get what you pay for. In the pricing section shortly you’ll see how the price of Creative MF0480 2.1 PC Speaker Set compares to all of the other Laptop and PC speakers available from our recommended retailer, Argos.

More information on quality can be found in this old but still very helpful article from Harvard Business Review. We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. As we mentioned earlier, the brand you choose is quite a personal thing. We each have our own views on which brands are best suited for our needs and that goes for anything we’re buying. Even toys, gadgets, games and Laptop and PC speakers. For now I’d like to touch upon budgeting. Setting yourself a budget before getting too deeply involved in your shopping online is one of the best pieces of advice we can give. It’s very important to do this, because it’s all too easy to get carried away and choosing a product that offers those little extra features but spending a lot more than we could or should have spent. For our review we’ve scored Creative MF0480 2.1 PC Speaker Set 9.5 out of 10. We take a number of criteria into account here including what customers have to say about the product, the features, quality and price.

Aspiring DJs and producers wanting to practice at home can try the booming Pioneer DJ DM-50D-BT speakers to try out their mixes. These speakers are fairly chunky thanks to each housing a 127mm subwoofer and 19mm tweeters, and there's a Class D amp providing 25 watts of output per channel. They have solid build quality that's expected considering their beefy 262 x 175 x 247mm design, with the left speaker a bit heavier at 3.9kg versus the right at 3.5kg, because it houses the connectors and buttons. The good news is that setup is fairly simple considering how few wires there are connected to the speakers... but the bad news is that all the cables run through the right speaker, making it a little challenging for us to lay things out in a neat way - this isn’t one of those 2.1 systems that enables you to be all that creative on the display side of things. Let’s see what it is about Creative MF0480 2.1 PC Speaker Set that gets it a review score of 9.7/10. You can’t beat a video review. As we mentioned earlier, one of the downsides to buying online is the inability to actually see and test the product. This is where videos can really help to bridge the gap and give you an almost just as good alternative.Movies and games offer similar results. Gamers won’t find much to be impressed with here, though that’s hardly the crowd Creative is angling for. Movies and shows, or simply browsing through an array of YouTube clips, we came away hearing a relatively crisp level of sound. The sound quality is excellent, with plenty of detail and a massive amount of bass if you turn the subwoofer up to 11. The S351DB is perhaps more at home with music and video sources than gaming because the system is tuned for warmth and balance rather than staccato detail but that subwoofer certainly gives gaming sound effects some serious impact. The sheer size of the Nommo Pro makes it a poor choice for those short on desk space but if you have the room to accommodate it, it’s a powerful and versatile system that will enhance your audio experience whether you’re gaming, watching a movie or simply listening to some tunes.

When it comes to connectivity, Arena 9 has a decent port selection with USB-C, optical, and a 3.5mm port, and you can also use Bluetooth if you want to play music from your iPhone or Android smartphone. The lighting on these speakers is kept to a minimum, with four lighting zones and several effects to choose from via the SteelSeries GG Engine app. Next up is the material. Take a look at what Creative MF0480 2.1 PC Speaker Set is made from. Often you can spot the quality of the product based on the materials used to make it, with some obvious signs of a cheaper product with certain types of material. With some toys this will be more important than others. So you’ll already have a good idea of whether the material is actually a big deal or not when buying Laptop and PC speakers. JBL’s One Series 104 were impressive desktop speakers, but the new model adds Bluetooth to the mix. The result is great-sounding speakers that are perfectly suited to both work and play. Loading some good old fashion Heavy Metal (hello Slipknot) and stupidly having the Creative Pebble Plus Speakers turned up midway, believing them to be around the same power as my old noisemakers my desk became alive! It literally roared! Trying something a bit more timid, I went to a few YouTube videos and this is where it all became slightly more interesting. Voices which initially were flat now seemed to have depth or found themselves leaning to one side of the desk rather than the other, clearly depending on how the creator recorded their video. It was truly fascinating to hear so many old voices in a new light. The bass is rich and, while the treble isn’t quite as impressive, it was still pleasant to listen to in our tests. The T5V are loud too, with a volume that will easily fill most medium-sized rooms. That’s partly due to a scooped-out waveguide that helps the sound reflected off of the ceilings and walls stay true to what’s directly coming out of the speaker. They even sounded great in our echoey living room.As you can imagine, pricing is one of the most important factors of any purchasing decision. We can find the perfect product for our needs, that fits the brief in every single way. But if it doesn’t fit our budgets, we simply can’t (or at least shouldn’t) buy it. So take your time to think about the sort of brands you’d be happy to buy when buying Laptop and PC speakers. Whether you’re looking for a compact, cheap way of enhancing your tinny laptop’s sonic output or seeking an audiophile experience to do your custom-built gaming rig justice, there are plenty of great PC speakers to choose from. If the price appears to be significantly lower than you’d expect for the sort of product you’re buying, then you’d be wise to start looking in a bit more detail at other indicators of the quality. Quality, as you’d imagine is one of the most important considerations for buying any products. This is especially true for Laptop and PC speakers.
